For career-minded fitness junkies, there is no better feeling than multitasking work and working out. You know the type – typing emails on their smartphones while spinning on a stationary bike and skimming documents between yoga poses.
Thanks to Weartrons, a group of New York-based developers, job-obsessed runners have a better option than trying to flip through a book on the treadmill. Weartrons have created ‘Run-n-Read’, a gadget that clips onto your headband or shirt collar and enables the wearer to read text on their tablet while running.
Run-n-Read work with an e-reader app on your tablet device to track your body’s movements from the shoulders up to your eyes. Using that data, the device can keep the text in sync with your eye line, no matter how bouncy the run is.
This product seems cool to me, who has failed miserably at running while reading, but would love to combine the two tasks with the help of the right technology.
To turn a page, you just need to tap the device once for a forward swipe and twice to go back. While you’re reading, Run-n-Read can also keep tabs on your fitness levels. That’s a nice bonus feature!
The corresponding app, which works for both Android and iOS devices, comes free with the purchase of the clip-on component. Run-n-Read costs $55 and can be purchased via the company’s fundraising campaign page.
